AntePavilion Architectural Model
In 2021, Nima Sardar, a finalist and eventual winner of the prestigious Antepavilion competition, required a physical model to articulate his innovative design intentions and demonstrate its functionality to the competition judges. Recognising the critical role of a well-crafted model in conveying complex architectural ideas, he collaborated with Studio This & That, led by its founder, who was operating an architectural model workshop at the time.

I was commissioned to create a 1:20 scale model of the design. This process involved not only constructing a precise and visually compelling representation but also delving into the intricacies of the design. Through the model-making process, I identified unresolved design challenges and areas requiring further development. By addressing these, I proposed actionable solutions and amendments that were incorporated into the final design.
The resulting model became an essential tool in the presentation, offering judges a tangible and interactive experience of the proposal. The judges engaged with the model extensively, appreciating its meticulous detail and functionality. Its clarity and craftsmanship played a significant role in communicating the design's potential, contributing to its selection as the winning entry.
Post-competition, the model was displayed alongside the final installation, showcasing the collaborative effort and craftsmanship that brought the award-winning design to life. This project not only underscored the value of architectural models in the design process but also highlighted the importance of collaboration and problem-solving in achieving excellence.
